Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram says that it will be “more emotional” to face his dead’s old side Parma when it’s in the city itself.

The Frenchman opened up about what scoring against the Gialloblu meant to him in a press conference after the match, as reported by FCInterNews.

For the first time ever, Thuram came face-to-face with Parma yesterday.

The Emilian team were the club who the Inter striker’s father Lilian was playing for when he was born.

The legendary former France defender spent five seasons at Parma. There, he established himself as one of the best defenders not just in Serie A, but all of Europe.

Thuram was on the scoresheet yesterday. He helped Inter to a 3-1 win.

Naturally, the priority was the three points. Thuram was not about to let sentimentality get in the way of the task at hand.

Inter Striker Marcus Thuram: “Facing Parma Away Will Be More Emotional”

After the match, Thuram noted that “I was born in Parma.”

“I think that when we play there, it will even more emotional for me,” the Inter striker added.

Meanwhile, Thuram spoke about the fact that he scored his tenth goal of the season yesterday. His strike brought him to within two goals of Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui atop the Serie A scoring charts.

“I’m happy,” the Frenchman said of going into double digits for the season. “The most important thing is that Inter win, and then we’ll see what number I get to in the end.”

Of Inter’s defensive record, Thuram commented “Last season we didn’t concede many goal.”

“At the start of this season we were conceding a few more.”

“We talked with each other about how to fix it. Now we’ve been more compact.”

Of his teammate and strike partner Lautaro Martinez, scoreless in Serie A once again, Thuram insisted “Lauti is a great player.”

“Playing with him is always easy,” he made clear.

And then Thuram downplayed the impact that the game in hand against Fiorentina could have. “I don’t think it will make a difference,” he said. “In the end we all play the same matches.”
