Bologna have set their sights on Inter Milan midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, currently on loan at Sampdoria.
This according to Nigerian outlet Soccernet.ng. They report that Inter have no intention of cutting Akinsanmiro’s loan at the Blucerchiati short in January, but that Bologna could eye up a move next summer.
20-year-old midfielder Akinsanmiro is currently on loan with Sampdoria.
The Nigerian joined the Ligurians on loan last summer. This is is first regular experience in senior football.
Akinsanmiro had previously impressed in Inter’s Under-19 or Primavera team. This had earned him some matchday squad appearances last season, and a cameo substitute appearance against Lecce.
Inter had beaten the likes of Real Madrid and Benfica to Akinsanmiro’s signature.
However, prior to this season the priority was to get Akinsanmiro regular playing time.
Therefore, Sampdoria emerged as the ideal destination for the 20-year-old to start finding his feet in the senior game.

So far this season, Akinsanmiro’s loan at Sampdoria has gone more or less according to plan.
It has been a tough season for the Blucerchiati. They have changed coaches a couple times as their form in Serie B has been erratic.
However, individually Akinsanmiro has played well.
The Nigerian has gotten up to speed with the level of the team quickly.
Akinsanmiro has made twenty appearances in the league, scoring one goal. He has also made three appearances in the Coppa Italia.
Sampdoria reached the round of sixteen of the Coppa, having memorably knocked out city rivals Genoa on penalties. Akinsanmiro featured against Roma in the round of sixteen.
And Akinsanmiro’s performances are attracting some transfer interest.
He has impressed Bologna. Therefore, they have marked the young Nigerian out as a target.
As far as Inter are concerned, they are in no rush to send Akinsanmiro to a new club. They would like for his solid form in Serie B to continue for the rest of the season.
Therefore, Akinsanmiro will stay in Liguria during the January transfer window. Bologna won’t move for him this month.
In the summer, however, the Rossoblu could certainly revive their interest in Akinsanmiro.
