Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Nicolo Barella in midfield and Francesco Acerbi in defense against Fiorentina. This evening’s Serie A matchday 24 match kicks off at 20.45 CET.
Inter face Fiorentina in Serie A this evening. They host the Tuscan side at the San Siro. This is the second time that the two teams meet in the space of less than a week.
The Nerazzurri played away on Thursday at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
That match was the makeup fixture for the match that had kicked off at the start of December, but which had been postponed due to a medical emergency for midfielder Edoardo Bove.
And it was a disaster for Inter. the Nerazzurri lost the match 3-0, a major stumbling block in their Serie A title push, and their heaviest defeat since 2019.
Therefore, Inter will certainly need a big reaction in this evening’s rematch.
Accordingly, it is not too surprising that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to make some changes to the lineup – four in total to the starting eleven.
Meanwhile, Inter’s title rivals Napoli slumped to a surprise draw with Udinese yesterday. Therefore, there is a chance for the Nerazzurri to immediately regain some ground.
Nicolo Barella Starts In Midfield – Acerbi Back In Defense
Firstly, Yann Sommer starts in goal for Inter. Therefore, he continues his run of starting every one of Inter’s Serie A matches this season.
Then, in the defense there are two notable changes.

Firstly, former Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard replaces Yann Bisseck in the back three.
And then, Francesco Acerbi makes his first appearance for Inter in 79 days – the Italian international last played in a Serie A clash with Hellas Verona in November.
Lastly, Alessandro Bastoni completes the Inter back three.
Meanwhile, in midfield there is a notable change.
Davide Frattesi drops out of the starting eleven. Therefore, in his place Nicolo Barella returns to the lineup.
Then, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu once again get the nod.
Finally, in attack Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram keep their places.

Are you from Indonesia?
100%
I am happy to take the 3 points, though I am not happy with what I saw. After the humilitation they did to us, I wanted a statement, convicing win. Instead, we got a 2:1 win, and even that thanks to ref’s help.
Anyways, the guys should keep going and do their best. Our rivals in Italy are, on paper, inferior to us.
Acerbi man of the match alongside Arna. Acerbi is so good in keeping the defence organised
I think we have missed Acerbi a lot this season. With him and without him, we are not the same.
And we’re back we’re started one point behind Napoli. Whole team can get some serious rest and up we go against rubentus on Sunday and we can continue to keep pressure on napoli.
By the way the chat looks dead or is it because it’s a Monday?
I honestly don’t like this new comment section so far, putting me off
Yes, its make me sick, i visited this site almost 10 year ago and always come back coz there is good discussion in every official line up news. Now its not the same.

Thanks for this feedback. I’ll pass it on.
now for beating merdentus. we need revenge for that freak 4-4 draw!
acerbi!! wish we had got him younger and fitter. but man, put Haaland, laakaka now kean in his pocket.
Ngl this referee was buns. Total ass
don’t know why but fiorentina are now climbing up my most hated team leader board.. after merda and bilan
.
3 points!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Based on the chances, we definitely deserve the 3 points. Well played!!! Hope Thuram is ok.
This Yea this the Kean i know. I dont know who that guy we played last game was.
Wow that was mean to Arna
Bastoni like Dimarco never finish the game
man, this new comment section is quiet
Gotta win this one
Arna has redeemed himself. Great goal
Arnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Stop complaining with loser-mentality justifications. It was clearly and obviously a penalty. Darmian’s open arm is a mistake done by amateurs, not a veteran. The ball was still on game and he had opened the arm and derailed the ball’s trajectory.
On the other hand, Bastoni’s ball went out.
The fair result would be 0:1. The ref has been helping us, not them.
HE CHANGED THE TRAJECTORY from going out of play. everyone was just speaking facts.
In slow motion replay it is not as clear as you make it. There is a good chance the ball would go towards the net (though Sommer most likely would make a comfortable save). It is a penalty.
Yes our goal the ball was out – but you can’t just make it up with terrible decisions the other way.
I suggest we start getting to the edge of their box and flicking the ball onto hands from a foot away the ref will have no option to give a penalty…
It’s an embarrassing game in Italy sometimes.
I watch other leagues and the ref would be like I checked it but it was point blank and going well wide, you get a corner.
We’re still alive?
Refs giving out make up calls for the ef ups
Fiorentina first corner and it’s a penalty now Inter just need to do the same. Fiorentina are bound to do some mistakes and it’ll be up to the ref to check and I doubt Inter players will just let it go easily
we are playing well.. that penalty was a ! hope we come back stronger. mhiki and chala ok yellow. we may see our superstar asslani in the second!
Those yellow were so shady tho. For the case of Hakan instead of the ref to try to find out what happened but just gives both yellow even with Fiorentina celebrating because a yellow on Hakan is far more damaging. At this point tho I don’t think taking all of them at once is the right choice because Inzaghi will replace him with Asllani and that would be the end of the match. Arna is more than enough… Zielinski and Frattessi should come on instead because Inter needs goals
Not sure if ball was outside when we made a goal… Bit man, that penalty is weak af, going far off goal, short distance, even a foul from Kean on Darmian, and he decides penalty, wtf !
On the other hand, why Arnautovic, why -.-
Well… we may have been a little fortunate with the corner decision for our goal, but this handball rule needs seriously looking at… there is absolutely no intent whatsoever from Darmian! The guy simply heads the ball down onto his arm… how is that a penalty??? Having said that, I don’t like this worrying habit we seem to be picking up of conceding right on half time!! Inzaghi needs to fire the boys up for the second half! Napoli have a fairly tough run of fixtures on the horizon, and we can’t afford to keep wasting opportunities to take advantage!! C’mon boys!!!!!
Despite the score, this is much better played half than last game. Should be able to win. But please sub off Darmian…..
Lmao that is the weakest penalty I’ve ever seen. Is Italy ok??
F**k this league! It’s corrupt AF
Header going well wide, hits an arm from about a foot away and continues wide.
Not every touch on a hand is handball ffs
This is not football.
Ball going out for a Goal kick. You cant give a pen for that
After the last week’s debacle, only a convicing win can satisfy. Not only win, but make a statement win. Otherwise an unconvincing win will be like another loss.
That fall in the penalty box…he called for a sub
Darmian and Pavard need to switch, All he does is pass back
Napoli dropped points, and these guys need some serious payback!! Time for revenge!! C’mon boys, let’s hammer these guys and get back on track!! FORZA INTER!!!
We are going for the title fullspeed….. Next week we gonna win at Juventus and get the 1st place in the table… ⚫
