Nicola Zalewski has handed Inter Milan another fitness blow ahead of tonight’s Coppa Italia game against Lazio.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, a leg injury will sideline the Poland international for this evening’s clash.

Simone Inzaghi had hoped to field his winter signing from the first minute tonight.

With Carlos Augusto injured and Federico Dimarco needing rest, Zalewski was a candidate to start.

However, the Nerazzurri boss must find another solution after the Roma loanee suffered an untimely injury.

Zalewski’s fitness setback could keep him on the treatment table for at least a fortnight.

That means he’ll skip the first leg of Inter’s Champions League last-16 tie against Feyenoord.

More importantly, Inzaghi can’t call upon him for this week’s pivotal domestic fixtures.

Indeed, Inter will host Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals tonight.

Meanwhile, they will take on Napoli in a crunch Serie A meeting on Saturday.

The reigning holders will put their Scudetto hopes on the line without several first-team stars, including Zalewski.
