The age of the Inter Milan squad is very high, and the team’s veterans must put in a couple more big months before a summer overhaul.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
All of Yann Sommer, Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are expected to start for Inter Milan against Udinese this weekend.
Those four players alone have a combined age of 144.
Meanwhile, Marko Arnautovic will likely start against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday. The Austrian is another veteran – next month, he will turn 36.
This highlights an undeniable fact about the Inter squad – they are getting old.
Inter Milan Squad Average Age Sky High – Big Changes This The Summer
Inter will rejuvenate their squad in the summer. As per reports in Italy the last few months.
The priority for the Nerazzurri is to target young signings. They can hardly let the average age of the squad rise any higher.

On the other hand, relying on veteran players has not exactly been a problem to date.
On the contrary, some of Inter’s most reliable contributors have been some of their oldest in recent seasons.
And the Nerazzurri will be hoping that this trend can hold for a couple more months.
In the summer, at least a couple of the most seasoned players in the Nerazzurri will depart. And there is no doubt that the new signings who arrive to replace them will be significantly younger.
But the composition of Inter’s squad is what it is. And it will remain so for the rest of this season.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri expect one more big push from the thirty-plus crowd that has gotten them this far.
