Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi delivered his verdict on his side’s phenomenal Champions League success.
Speaking to Prime Video via FCInterNews, the 49-year-old hailed Inter’s performance against Bayern Munich.
In one of the most passionate nights in the club’s recent history, the Nerazzurri squeaked past the Bavarians.
Indeed, the reigning Scudetto holders held Vincent Kompany’s side to a 2-2 draw at the San Siro.
Following a 2-1 first-leg win in Munich, it was enough to reach the semi-finals for the second time in three years.
However, fans in attendance had to experience an emotional rollercoaster.
Bayern took the lead through Harry Kane, but Inter regained control of the tie in no time.
For context, Lautaro Martinez and Benjamin Pavard made it 4-2 for the Italians on aggregate.
Though Eric Dier restored Bayern’s hope of pulling off a late turnaround, Inzaghi’s charges stood firm.
Inter Milan Boss Simone Inzaghi Proud After Monumental Win

“It’s a wonderful evening, experienced at our stadium, in front of our fans, against a very strong team,” Inzaghi started.
“We had to play two great matches, giving everything we had. The boys were fantastic – this is a victory to share with the entire Inter family.
“We move forward in this long season that’s giving us so many emotions.”
Then, Inzaghi hailed Inter’s ‘never give up’ mentality.
“Doing well on this stage is even more satisfying because Bayern never dropped their intensity, but we responded blow for blow.”
As humble as always, Inzaghi refused to take the credit for Inter’s imperious European run.
“The credit goes to the players, who work hard and sacrifice themselves together.
“We’ve been together for four years.
“At the start, we knew we had a strong team but also that we needed to fix some things.
“We’ve managed to win important trophies. It’s a huge satisfaction that rewards the work of myself and the staff.”
Finally, he explained how Marko Arnautovic made him laugh on the touchline.
“We were talking – he took a knock against Cagliari and wasn’t feeling great.
“I asked if he was available to come on, and he said yes, but then I opted for a different change. That shows the unity in this group.
“Even the injured guys on the bench suffered with us. Let’s enjoy nights like this – San Siro was truly emotional.
“Compliments to the boys for what they put on the field against such a strong opponent.”
Love him, he is still growing as a coach. There are a lot of people who says that Conte is better coach, because he is fighting with us for 1st place with weaker Napoli, but he always sacrifices cup and Champions league to be first. With Inzaghi we are always competitive in all competitions, and with better and younger backup players next seasons we can dominate serie A for years just like Juventus did for almost a decade.
Pazza Inter amala
Better and younger???? Who is ready to replace Acerbi and DeVrij??? Bissek definitely not.. That new Croatian guy?? I don’t think so… Stop with this old thing every single game.. This old players they are still very functional, as long as they have gas in the tank I really don’t care about their age…
Can a guy of 37 years play 50+ matches in a season? He can’t, not unless he is C. Ronaldo. If they expand registration rules so more players will be available than i am all for it that players like Acerbi, Darmian, Mkhitaryan stay. They can play for 60 minutes on top level, then their stamina fall, It’s pure biology, you can’t go against time.
And unless we want to repeat dark period that came after we won Champions league last time, we need to make investments. That generation was excellent, but almost all of our starting 11, and a couple of subs were all 30+ years of age.
Inzaghi , is doing a wonderful job. so does the team , if we concentrate one more month , we are at the top of Europe and Italy in the same time. I think Inter deserves to be the best.
We need to keep inzaghi as our coach as long as possible
Inzaghi is doing great. Getting us to semi finals is an overachievement – just look at wage bills of last 4 teams.
If inzaghi does not win coppa or scudetto this year given the tough run of fixtures, I am still grateful for making us respected in Europe and getting some important cash from UCL
I know there are many “fans” who will jump on every opportunity to criticize him.
We have 4 tough games with bologna, milan , roma, and Barcelona btw April 20 and April 29
I am seriously considering not reading the comments during those games to avoid the negativity 🙂
Indeed, Inzaghi has done a great job overall. The club has not backed him up as needed in the mercato, and he still reaches the semis. He is the second Inter coach in history to reach the UCL semis twice. It speaks volumes.
You have REALLY spoken well. I love your open mindedness, and your last statement is very VERY important
