Kristjan Asllani has been singled as the “worst player on the pitch” for Inter Milan in yesterday’s Coppa Italia loss to AC Milan.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, criticize the Albanian for a lack of quick thinking, poor decision-making, and positional errors.
Kristjan Asllani started for Inter Milan in yesterday’s Coppa Italia semifinal second leg against AC Milan.
The 23-year-old got the start over Hakan Calhanoglu. This gave the regular starter in holding midfield a chance to catch his breath.
However, for Asllani it proved to be another opportunity to make an impact which he could not take.
Kristjan Asllani Branded “Worst Player On The Pitch” In Inter 0-3 AC Milan Loss

Kristjan Asllani had the responsibility to orchestrate Inter’s play from deep.
The Albanian international frequently came into the defensive line to pick up the ball.
However, apart from a couple ambitious long passes, Asllani was unable to really force the issue with his passing.
The Gazzetta criticize the former Empoli midfielder for some fairly sterile and unimaginative passing.
And then, the newspaper argue, Asllani also didn’t contribute enough defensively. The 23-year-old frequently could have managed his positioning better to make Inter less open in midfield.
All in all, it was not the kind of performance that would allow Asllani to stake his claim at Inter.
He is just not interested in improving. There is an obvious lack of effort.
