Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Josep Martinez in goal, Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa up front against Hellas Verona. This evening’s Serie A matchday 35 clash kicks off at 20.45 CET.
Inter Milan take on Hellas Verona in Serie A this evening. Three points will be absolutely necessary to keep the pressure on Napoli at the top of the table.

However, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi also has the second leg of the Champions League semfinals against Barcelona to think about.
Inter secured a 3-3 draw in an all-time classic in the first leg away in Spain.
Therefore, they will feel that they have every chance of reaching a second final in three seasons in the second leg.
Accordingly, Inzaghi has rotated his team heavily against Verona this evening.
The Nerazzurri coach has made a whopping ten changes to the team from the first leg against Barcelona..
Josep Martinez Starts In Goal – Yann Sommer Rested

Firstly, there is a notable change in goal.
Spanish goalkeeper Josep Martinez takes the place of Yann Sommer in goal.
Meanwhile, in defense Yann Bisseck keeps his place from the first leg against Barcelona. However, Stefan de Vrij and Carlos Augusto replace Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni.
Meanwhile, in midfield Inzaghi has completely changed the trio.
Firstly, Hakan Calhanoglu is serving a one-match suspension. Then, both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Nicolo Barella get a rest.
Therefore, it is a starting trio of Piotr Zielinski, Kristjan Asllani, and Davide Frattesi.
Then, Inzaghi has also made changes on both flanks.
Nicola Zalewski and Matteo Darmian replace Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries in the lineup.
Joaquin Correa & Marko Arnautovic Lead The Attack

Lastly, in attack Inzaghi has also made two changes.
Lautaro Martinez is out with an injury, having come off at halftime against Barcelona in midweek.
Meanwhile, Marcus Thuram gets a rest. Accordingly, it is a front pairing of Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa.
Apart from captain Lautaro Martinez, Inter are missing one player due to injury – defender Benjamin Pavard.

The rotation was worth it. Nice job.
Credit must be given to Inter’s main attackers. Lautaro and Thuram have really worked so hard to help Inter in attack. This match is another example of just how crucial just those two players have done to Inter this season. The remaining attackers have no ambition or skills to do anything else other than to be cover players who are waiting to be let go.
Solointer, I deserve credit if Napoli wins scudetto. I said it at first week of the season.
I don’t think they deserve it one bit. They had the biggest advantage compared to the other top 7 teams as they were miserable in any other competition. Inter have a mediocre rotation squad while Napoli have a mediocre first team and it wouldn’t surprise me if they find a way to slip despite a clear advantage.
Nah, they deserve it. It sucks that we have played 17 more games than them, but that is due to our own success. Napoli and Inter are in different situations and Conte was able to capitalize on it. It still hurts not winning Serie A though, but you can’t discredit Napoli and Conte for it. Conte lost his best offensive player in the middle of the season.
Sorry, Juliet.
Really shitty performance against relegation team despite the win
Second half is soooo boring to watch.. like what 5 shots on goal by both teams combined? Well clean sheet would be nice at least , its been ages..
Not getting a shot on goal with a 3v2 fast break should be a fineable offense.
This is not a white flag, but rotation. Our bench players are, at least on paper, much better than Verona’s starters.
What a shot from asllani i thought that went in!!
Score more goals for even better best attack and GD.
We can be proud of the team for going far but we can’t be happy that we choked on the finish line in 3 competitions – super cup final against bilan leading 2-0 half time. Coppa semi, just needed to win and lost 3-0 to 9th place bilan and leading the league with 5 games to go, lost two in a row to two teams that were not in top 4 and handed the league to Napoli…. Now all we have is the game at home against Barca but I’m not expecting much since we always have a hard time against Spanish teams…
I just can’t believe Napoli can win the league after they lost Zielinski, Kim, Osimhen and Kvara. That’s like us losing are 4 best players… Conte to me is a world class coach.
Conte in the CL:
Juventus
2012/13 Season: the furthest he’s made it. Got the the quarter finals, faced Bayern and got knocked out with a 4-0 overall result.
2013/14 Season: third place finish in the group stage. Doesn’t make it to the knockout stage.
Chelsea:
2017/18 Season: knocked out by Barca with a 4:1 overall scoreline.
Inter:
2019/20 Season: Third place finish; doesn’t make it out of the group stage.
2020/21 Season: Fourth place finish; didn’t even make it to the EL knockout stage.
Tottenham:
2022/23 Season: Gets knocked out by Milan in the first phase of the knockout stage.
This doesn’t sound like a world class coach to me. The dude is great at winning leagues, but is garbage in the CL. I would rather have Inzaghi who can at least give top teams a run for their money (and a little more) than Conte securing the league but not competing in the CL at all while whining every time things don’t go his way.
In other words anther easy scudetto for Conte.
Waiting until the last match day to win Scudetto while your main rival has played 17 more games during the season doesn’t sound easy to me. And that’s if Conte doesn’t drop the ball in the remaining three games.
Agreed, he is good at winning the Scudetto, but he is a one-trophy coach and his record in Europe is bad.
I mean he will fail in UCL early and will continue again Scudetto path, which is easier.
said it like a BOSS
Ok now do Conte in leagues (including in different countries)
3 league titles with Juve in 3 years. I league title with Chelsea in 2 years. 1 league title with Inter in 2 years. No league titles with Tottenham in 2 years. Most likely a league title with Napoli in 1 year.
I acknowledged that the dude is great at winning leagues but abysmal in Europe, so I’m not even sure why I even bothered replying. I’d rather have a coach that will compete in all fronts than a coach that will guarantee league titles while being an embarrassment in the Champions League.
Conte won Serie A with us but we were all left with a bitter taste in our mouths since we were dead last in our CL group; a group that had Monchengladbach and Shakhtar. I remember how pissed off everybody was when that happened and fans wouldn’t forgive him if we didn’t win Serie A that season. Luckily, he did but it didn’t matter at the end since he ended up leaving and taking the Tottenham job even after he said he only wanted to coach teams that would compete… I also remember his comment about entering a €100 restaurant with a €10 note while coaching Juve, only for Juve to make it to the CL final the very next season and again in 2017. That proves that his comment was a cheap excuss. It also proves that you can still compete without spending as much as other top clubs. Of course spending helps a lot, but you get my point. Just look at us under Inzaghi.
I didnt expect us to win everything and whole season long i just had the feeling we will do better in UCL then Serie A this year.
Team just didnt looked focused enough on Serie A and in UCL id say we even had fair bit of luck. Still losing Super cup the way we did , geting knocked out of Coppa by Milan the way we did and screwing up league so late makes me feel disapointed but also happy a bit as i now know that few good players coming in this summer could be what we need to make a real push for all the bigest prizes next year.
Anyway Napoli might still fck it up,so lets see what our b team can do tonight hell even our coach is taking a break today haha
Keep good statistics. Best attack, best GD etc.
Hopefully, this goal gives Asllani some confidence.
I think it did. The shot and the cross, damn, really not bad.
Let’s help Juliet survive. Scudetto gone.
Inglese good to be determined this way – that is a fan. but one player that should be dropped for champ league is dimarco, who is making yemal of barca turn world best over night.
Pls, dont start this platform on a sad note, there are bigger objectives ahead – dont give up as a fan, this season is still positive.
Forza Inter!
I’ll say this much, before I go and watch the match in peace, without the trolls and the Inzaghi bashing… there are still 3 games in wich Napoli can drop points, so it’s time for some of the players picked today to step up,and do their part in being part of this squad!! I’m looking in particular at the midfield 3, who have all been huge disappointments in one way or another… and if Correa could remember how to play football for just 1 game, that would be very helpful to the cause!! Clearly (and rightly so) we are putting all our eggs in the Champions league basket, but that doesn’t mean we don’t keep fighting for the league until the last possible kick!! As always, FORZA INTER!!!!
They deserve no mentioning. Still games to play… how meany years have we started to improve more and more our final games – at the point where we have no other option than the maximal. “There are no great men, just great challenges which ordinary men, out of necessity, are forced by circumstances to meet.” No player is a man before winning everything with Inter!
Probably the right decision- but it’s depressing to wave the white flag in the league.
Why the presumption? Remember our first meeting? Correa, Thuram and Asllani had an exceptional game, winning 5-0. Thuram was involved in 3 on that occasion. Inzaghi was fully aware if what he did here – certainly no capitulation!
It is normal for him to rotate heavily.
