Antonio Cassano feels that Inter Milan “didn’t deserve to go through” from their Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.
The always outspoken former striker gave his thoughts on the match on the Viva el Futbol podcast, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan and Barcelona played out an all-time classic in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The first leg of the tie had ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw. It seemed nearly impossible to top.
But after the ninety minutes had elapsed at the San Siro, it was once again 3-3. Inter had gotten themselves a 2-0 lead as they had in the first leg. Then Barcelona came back to make it 2-3.
Francesco Acerbi equalized for the Nerazzurri in stoppage time, however.
Then, in extra time, it was Davide Frattesi who scored the decisive goal to book Inter’s place in the final.
Cassano Argues “Inter Milan Didn’t Deserve To Go Through” Vs Barcelona

Former striker Antonio Cassano admitted that “I rarely get emotional watching a match.”
“I can only remember three other matches like this,” he went on.
“Being an Inter fan, the joy was double. As an athlete and a fan, I was emotional when I watched Acerbi’s goal.”
“I know him,” Cassano said. “I was emotional thinking about what he’s gone through.”
“He scored a sensational goal. It was like a Harry Kane finish.
Then, Cassano gave his thoughts on the scorer of Inter’s winning goal, Davide Frattesi. “Why don’t we talk about him more?” he asked.
“Nobody gives a sh*t about him. But in Munich he came on and scored. Against Barcelona, he scored.”
And as far as whether he thought Inter deserved to go through over two legs, Cassano said “I don’t think so.”
“On Tuesday, we saw a very one-sided match. Even with Inter going 2-0 up, Barcelona were the only team with the ball, they created a lot.”
Cassano argued that Barcelona “could have made it 4-2.”
“Sommer made the kinds of saves that he’ll remember for the rest of his life,” the former striker added.
“The one on Yamal is beyond all logic.”
Where’s a Lee Harvey Oswald when you need one…
Cassano didn’t deserve to have played at Inter.
He was always an average striker, Real Madrid flop.
I hope we shut him down by winning but I can already him saying something negative whether we win or lose.
“Inter won but PSG played better”.
Cassano already said it will be a shit season even if we win the CL lol. There’s simply no pleasing dumbasses like him. Unfortunately, we have several of these dumbasses in this forum.
Sounds just like Young Micropenis who claims he’s an Inter fan but shits on the team even after we pull a historic win.
what does he knows about UCL football? only 27 appearance in the competitions. certainly talks bigger than he walks.
yeah dont put cassano here , he always talk sheet about inter, i despise him. we can match man city in their prime, and we can beat barca with yamal , i hope this year we can win it for real , Forza Inter!!
Please stop falling for this guy’s bait. He is the ultimate internet manipulator. Bobo most likely had enough of his ways and based on other Interisti friends, them too. The Kanye West of calcio = Cassano
Before the match, a barca fan said inter is a small club, i didnt want to argue much with him, so i just replied: “after the match you will know if inter is a big club or not”.
With this huge success inter are now gaining more fans around the world especially in africa. tanx inzaghi/marota!
All Barca fans thought that they would beat Inter easily and win the treble. They partied way before the party even started. If there’s something I learned very early in my journey as a football fan is to not celebrate or throw the towel until the match (or tie) is over.
He (cassano) forgot that barca players partied before the party. they thought they’d won the match, even their fans around the world, before the ball was kicked, but in the end inter won. leave inter alone, inter would always be inter with their own style of play, that has brought huge success to the club.
I don’t know who’s worse (the dumbest one) Davide here or Cassano talking about Inter…
Dear Sempre Team, pls dont quote Antonio Cassano. He only talks non sense every time. I think i talk for everyone here that we Arena tired reading his comments
Could agree more.
He always talk negativity about Inter.
