Inter Milan and Napoli will battle it out to appoint Max Allegri if Simone Inzaghi and Antonio Conte leave this summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Libero, via FCInter1908.
At the moment, Max Allegri has been out of work for right around a year.
The 57-year-old parted ways with Juventus at the end of last season.
And since then, Allegri has yet to join a new club.
However, there is a feeling that this could change heading into next season.
Reports indicate that AC Milan are already keen on bringing back Allegri for a second go around after more than a decade.
But two other heavy-hitters in Serie A could also aim for the veteran tactician.
Inter & Napoli To Battle For Max Allegri If Inzaghi & Conte Leave

At the moment, there is little doubt that Inter Milan want to keep Simone Inzaghi as coach.
However, successful contract talks with the former Lazio coach are not a foregone conclusion. Particularly after reports of a massive money offer from Al-Hilal.
Meanwhile, Napoli would certainly be happy to go again with Antonio Conte.
But reportedly, the former Juventus and Inter coach is not happy with what he sees as a lack of investment in the squad. Therefore, he could leave on a high after just a season at the helm.
As such, both Inter and Napoli could very well be in the hunt for a new coach at the end of the season.,
And according to Il Libero, both would be keen on Max Allegri.
Interesting times for both Inter and Napoli. Allegri’s experience could be valuable, but I wonder if he’s the right fit for either club’s current ambitions. There is a high probability of Mr Inzaghi leaving if he ends the season without a trophy but still hope he stays. if he ends up leaving, Inter should please look for a quality coach worthy enough to take his place and as well sign some high profile players to stand a chance of winning trophies and competing both in Europe and domestic at large .
we need a coach who can give Inter an attacking style of football with a strong and a quality defence too.
Allegri is terrible. His last job at Juventus was awful and they were desperate to get rid of him there. I hope there is no truth to that. And if Inzagui leaves, I see De Zerbi as the best option, otherwise I would look at non-Italian options. But I hope Inzagui stays.
i rather sign motta and wait inzaghi to comeback from saudi
if inzaghi failed to win UCL. he need to go tbh. he won only 1 scudetto in last 4 years when inter practically the strongest team in the series a.
inter should and must try re sign conte. if not conte then allegri is also good option
though i am critical of inzaghi over his substitutions, his rotations, his reluctant to change his tactics until recently, one also have to recognize that he is working on a very lean budget for the past 4 seasons.
but, one also have to recognize that inzaghi’s UCL record with inter is significantly better than Conte, and how the effort in UCL financially benefitted Inter.
Conte’s UCL record is dismal, while majority of allegri’s honors came during decade of Juve’s dominance in serie A.
I fail to see how either one is the right fit for Inter.
most of fans are morons. they want a team that can win something every year, not stability for the long run, without realizing we’re on tight budget. inzaghi rarely asks 50m players to help him win something to the club, but he has made inter known worldwide as worthy opponent after treble downfall. big name signings will not guarantee trophies, see what milan did! joao felix my butt!
