Simone Inzaghi says that he’ll discuss his future with Inter Milan after today’s 5-0 thrashing at the hands of PSG in the Champions League final.
The Nerazzurri coach addressed Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after the humbling defeat. He also insisted that he’s happy with his team’s season despite the lack of any trophies.
Inter Milan have fallen to an absolutely crushing defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
The Nerazzurri lost by the widest margin of any team in the history of the European Cup final.
It was a match that completely soured the momentum that Inter had built up in the Champions League. They had enjoyed memorable European nights against teams like Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona – but these came to a screeching halt.
Meanwhile, this final came against a backdrop of some persistent speculation about the future of Inzaghi as Inter coach.
Inzaghi: “We’ll Discuss My Future” After PSG 5-0 Inter Milan UCL Final Loss

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi defiantly suggested that this loss “doesn’t take anything away from the journey we’ve made.”
“I’m proud of the guys,” he went on.
“Tonight we were up against a team that deserved to win the match and win the Champions League.”
“They were probably the team that were better than us,” Inzaghi went on. “Stronger than us.”
“We started the match badly, and conceded goals,” the Nerazzurri coach continued.
“Then we started to leave gaps at the back, making it easier for them.”
“This loss is ugly,” Inzaghi admitted. “We’re sorry.”
“There’s a great sense of bitterness. But it doesn’t cancel out the journey that we’ve made.”
“They were better than us and we had to do better,” the Inter coach continued. “Myself first of all.”
“But let’s not forget the season we’ve had. Zero titles, but very good nevertheleess.”
“I said to leave with our heads held high,” Inzaghi insisted. “There’s anger, but I congratulate the group.”
Meanwhile, as far as his future at Inter, Inzaghi said that “we’ll see in the next few days with the club.”
“Now, after the second final lost, there’s too much disappointment to think about it.;”
The Inter coach stated that “there will be time to discuss it calmly with my club.”
“They were behind us again tonight. They’re always with us, from the President to the rest, they’re always present.”
And then Inzaghi explained why Davide Frattesi did not appear against PSG. “Davide deserved to play a bit of the final,” he said.
“But after putting Zalewski on and then the enforced substitutions of Calhanoglu and Bisseck there wasn’t a chance.”
“Particularly since we were 3-0 down.”
I don’t ask much, just better home kit and at least a trophy next season
please before you tell other coach better than inzaghi look at what he had, every year he lost a main player, like hakimi, lukaku, perisic, brozovic, onana
reduced Wage bill which mean no star players addition
yes tactically other may better than him but other Will keep nagging at media about star players as for him he didnt n he never creates tensions. give him time he Will evolve, give him investments, he is long term coach you all better pray he stays. he has proven he is the winning coach n make inter respectable again in Europe.
I doubt any Saudi team still wants to pay him 30mill after tonight, he is a man that is hoping to win rather than finding a way to win, bottled 2 Serie A and 2 CL, 1 major trophy in 4 years, this will be the norm if he stays
He has the same mentality that some of of our loser fans have lol. This game was nothing good and we were outclassed in every way. If Inzaghi leaves I’d be elated. It’s TIME!!!
We need fresh air so it is better you resign.
Inzaghi out. The worst manager of modern time. Top players looked like amateuers coached by this noob. Cost us multiple trophies.
It’s about time he leaves.
The most overrated coach in any top club right now. He’s making us worse than Arsenal, bottled the supercup, cup and Serie A, and humiliated us in CL.
With the quality team we have we should be dominating Italy at the very least.
And he has done NOTHING. Mourinho is a better option than Inzaghi right now, he fucking won with Roma.
“this loss “doesn’t take anything away from the journey we’ve made.””
It would have been 100× better to have been knocked out by Barca in the semis. We would go out with the head held high.
““I said to leave with our heads held high,” Inzaghi insisted. “There’s anger, but I congratulate the group.””
Yeah, congratulate them. They got humiliated like no one in UCL history.
“They were probably the team that were better than us”
Not only they were better, but Luis Enrique had totally figured you out. He had predicted every single detail from you. Losing in a final is to be expected, but losing this way is totally unacceptable. Unless you change tactics and start to have a plan A and a plan B, this humiliation will be just the beginning.
yes i’ve been saying this after the game, it is about time….cos his tactics has been one way round….see how Sergio Conceicaio whipped us…Fabregas will be good but i would
love if we can get Motta back
