Despite earlier refusal, there’s still a chance for Cesc Fabregas to take over the managerial reins at Inter Milan.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio admits the track is still alive, though he insists the road remains ‘complicated.’
Earlier today, Cesc Fabregas outlined his ambition to stay at Como, stating he ‘really believes in this project.’
Though it was supposed to be a hammer blow to Inter’s hopes of landing the 38-year-old, there’s still hope.
Indeed, the parties possibly had a contact in London tonight, with Inter making a last-ditch attempt to change Fabregas’ mind.
Gianluca Di Marzio Confirms Cesc Fabregas Move to Inter Milan Remains Complicated

Despite earning promotion to senior management only last summer, Fabregas has become an influential figure at Como.
Indeed, Como president Mirwan Suwarso is desperate to keep the former Arsenal midfielder at the club.
Per Fabregas’ recent statement, the feeling is mutual, yet Inter remain hopeful of getting a deal over the line.
Unfortunately, the only way for the Nerazzurri to sign Fabregas is for the manager to force his exit at Giuseppe Sinigagliga.
In case Fabregas doesn’t change his mind, Inter will turn to Genoa head coach Patrick Vieira.

2 finals in 3 years, a board that were willing to give the manager time and a new contract, improving finances year on year, a clear vision for creating a long term project. And he’s NOT interested? He should be jumping at the chance.
Why the f**k are we in a situation of scrambling for managers with zero experience and no trophies??
If Roma could temp klopp – why can’t we?!
IF they want a yes man, go get motta, juve was never right for him and his philosophy is right.
But we should be able to bring in someone who has pedigree, free agent or otherwise we have earned that right over the past 4-5 years under conte & inzaghi.
There are big names out there – zidane, klopp, low, xavi etc
I agree…I can’t believe the names of coaches we’re looking at. No disrespect to Chivu or Viera and even Fabregas…but we shouldn’t be begging managers to come to Inter. We should have a line out the door for people wanting the opportunity to be our manager!!
We have an American owner, and so far, Oaktree’s movement is similar to other teams with American owners, such as Chelsea and Milan. They focus on young player development and stability, not on chasing trophies excessively.
Inter running on short term and long term debt daily, unless the debt is net-zero (400m debt vs 25m net profit + running cost almost 300m per-year). That would roughly over 10 years to recover normally.
the only reason why we are scrambling for a manager is because of the Fifa Club World Cup which starts 2 weeks after the UCL final.
inzaghi new deal at inter could be as high as 7m per season, while he would earn 26m per season for 2+1 year + a 4-5m bonus.
14m vs 56 m in 2 season, or 21m vs 82m in 3 seasons.
Its not really a hard choice.
and lastly, sorry to say this, if Inter’s reputation and finance is top-notched as we believed to be, managers would be fighting to declare their interests to take over at Inter.
