Lautaro Martinez says that he is “sorry to everyone” after Inter Milan faced a humiliating 5-0 defeat to PSG in the Champions League final.
The Nerazzurri captain reflected on the loss in a message on his Instagram account. And in spite of the result, he defiantly proclaimed he is “more proud than ever” to wear the Inter shirt.
Inter Milan did not just lose the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Nerazzurri fell to an absolutely humiliating 5-0 defeat. That was the widest margin that any team has ever lost a Champions League final.
Therefore, it was certainly a result that left Inter wondering what would come next. Not least after Simone Inzaghi decided to step down just a couple days after the final.

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez addressed the fans: “Dear Interisti,” he wrote. “I’m writing this message to you a few days after, because the sadness, bitterness, and disappointment of Saturday’s match is still a hard feeling to digest.”
“Sorry to everyone for not being able to give to you what was a dream for all of us,” he continues.
“I want to thank all of the Nerazzurri fans who were in Munich. In San Siro. And around the world.”
“You’re always unique,” Martinez writes.
“In football, the trophies you win matter, it’s undeniable! But I also think that to bring our team back to the Champions League final, after so long, with so many sacrifices, twice in three years, also means a lot!”
“We fought to relive these emotions. To win trophies, and to experience unforgettable nights like that April 22nd.”
“Since the first day I arrived in Milan, all my teammates and I have worked for Inter,” writes Martinez. “To take its place in history, return it to where it deserves to me.”
Inter’s captain admits that “there are days when being Interisti is easy.”
“Others when it’s an obligation. And others when it’s an honour.”
“Today it’s an obligation for us to be Interisti,” Martinez writes.
“Today, more than ever, I’m proud to wear this shirt. And to be the captain of his team, of this group.”
Go away, you’re too slow. Useless.
I wish you had won it. Let’s hope (although I doubt it) the owners of inter would bring a proven manager within a year so you can win the CL just like PSG did.
