Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa feels that Inter Milan were “smashed by PSG in the Champions League final.”
The Italian international gave his thoughts on that final in an interview in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan did not just lose to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final last Saturday.
The Nerazzurri lost by the widest margin in the history of the Champions League or Europa League final. It was a humiliating 5-0 shellacking at the hands of the Parisians.
In the first half, it was quickly apparent that PSG would overrun Inter in midfield and control the tempo of play.
Then, the Ligue 1 champions took advantage of some sloppy defensive errors to score twice in quick succession.
In the second half, meanwhile, Inter had to push forward more. Then, PSG were absolutely ruthless in exploiting the big gaps that the Nerazzurri started to leave, scoring three more times.
Liverpool Winger Chiesa: “Inter Got Smashed By PSG”

Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa noted that “when we played the first leg against PSG they really put us under pressure.”
“Even though we ended up winning.”
“In the second leg it went differently,” the 27-year-old continued. “But they ended up winning.”
Chiesa called PSG “a very strong team, with a high intensity.”
Nevertheless, the Liverpool winger admitted that “I’d imagined that the final would be 50/50.”
Meanwhile, Chiesa noted that “Dembele’s pressing on Sommer was impressive.”
“Then the goal for 2-0 after twenty minutes finished off the match. It was no longer recoverable for Inter.”
“At that point, Inter were mentally smashed.”
