Lautaro Martinez and Valentin Carboni were the standouts for Inter Milan in a subpar performance against Urawa Red Diamonds.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan defeated Urawa Red Diamonds yesterday. They got their first win at the FIFA Club World Cup in their second group stage match.
Inter had to do it hard way. They trailed for the majority of the match, but won right at the end courtesy of a stoppage time winner from substitute Valentin Carboni.
This gave Inter something to really build on heading into their final group stage match against River Plate. They will feel confident they can book their place in the knockouts now.

Lautaro & Carboni Stand Out For Inter Milan Vs Urawa Red Diamonds

As the Gazzetta note, however, there were many Inter players who didn’t look convincing against Urawa Reds.
The majority of the Nerazzurri squad, in fact, simply appeared to be going through the motions.
Inter dominated possession of the ball. However, they lacked intensity and pace with the ball, or any real inspiration.
One Inter player who bucked this trend was captain Lautaro Martinez.
The 27-year-old looked hungry, and showed his quality when Inter needed him most with an acrobatic effort from a corner, Inter’s first effort on target for their equalizer.
Similarly, Valentin Carboni came on and added more pace to Inter’s play in the final third. Then, he was on hand to turn in the winner in stoppage time.
Henrique is average player. he had some great moments last year that make everyone thinks he’s some sort of hidden gem. at best, he’d be new dumfries
The big thing about Carboni as opposed to all the other new signings was at least he was demanding the ball which is great to see. We need more of the confidence and less sideways or backwards play like Henrique, I haven’t seen much of this guy Henrique but I hope he can at least beat his man, as his crossing seems pretty poor.
That’s why Henrique, a winger, was sold for only 23 mln. He is far from a complete player.
