Henrikh Mkhitaryan will play a big role in helping new signing Petar Sucic to find his place at Inter Milan next season.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, argue that mentoring the Croatian international will be Mkhitaryan’s “last mission” in a Nerazzurri shirt.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has now been at Inter Milan for three seasons.

The Armenian has never had any problems with playing regularly in spite of the fact that he is now well into his thirties.

Mkhitaryan will turn 37 next season. There is little doubt that, for all of his longevity, his career is winding down.

But that doesn’t mean that Mkhitaryan won’t have a role to play for at least one more season.

New Inter coach Cristian Chivu has shown that he trusts Mkhitaryan a lot. The 36-year-old has appeared in all of Inter’s Club World Cup matches so far, starting two of them.

And there is every chance that Mkhitaryan will play a big role in the knockout rounds as well, starting with Fluminense. Watch Inter Milan vs Fluminense for FREE with DAZN on any device!

Henrikh Mkhitaryan To Mentor Petar Sucic At Inter Milan

Nevertheless, Tuttosport suggest, it’s not likely that Mkhitaryan will start more than 20-25 matches for Inter next season.

The intensity of playing week in and week out just won’t be realistic.

However, one of the main players who Mkhitaryan will be splitting his minutes with will be Petar Sucic.

And the two midfielders can enjoy a very mutually beneficial relationship.

Sucic is very much at the opposite end of his career to Mkhitaryan, aged 21. Therefore, he still has to learn the ropes at Inter.

Mkhitaryan can play in matches that Sucic isn’t quite ready to, and help the Croat grow into the team. Tuttosport call this the 36-year-old’s “final mission.”
