Inter Milan will reportedly speak with defender Benjamin Pavard to clear the air following a bit of social media controversy.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard has found himself in a bit of hot water on social media recently.
The former Bayern Munich defender is currently healing from an ankle injury. This goes all the way back to an ankle sprain that he suffered in a Serie A clash with Roma in April.
Pavard had travelled with Inter to the Club World Cup. He even started for the Nerazzurri in their opening match against Monterrey.
However, the 29-year-old subsequently pulled out of the squad due to his lingering ankle issue flaring up.
Eventually, the decision was made that Pavard would return to Europe to focus on resting and healing up in view of next season, rather than participating further in the Club World Cup.
Inter To Speak With Benjamin Pavard About Social Media Controversy

However, some Inter fans noticed that Pavard appeared in an Instagram post playing padel with friends from France, in Porto Cervo, Sardinia.
Among these were fellow France international and AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez.
Some Nerazzurri fans theorized that something was not quite right with Pavard being able to participate in an athletic activity like padel, whilst supposedly unable to play due to his ankle.
Of course, playing a leisurely game of padel is hardly the same as playing football at the top level. The physical stress on the Frenchman’s ankle would be much less.
Nevertheless, the controversy and doubt has lingered on.
Particularly considering recent comments by Inter captain Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine hit out at teammates who have a questionable commitment to the Nerazzurri cause.
Therefore, the Gazzetta dello Sport report, Inter will have a chat with Pavard.
The Nerazzurri want to make sure that the defender has not been anything less than forthcoming regarding his condition. And avoid having the situation turn into more of a furor than it already is.
Martinez is perfectly in line for what he said. If a player wants out he should leave at once. This whole situation will drag on well into August. This club talks about buying this player or that player but will not do anything. Continually stating they must sell to buy is tiresome. Decide who wants stay and forget the rest. No Italian club made more money than Inter and yet they claim poverty. Are not competing for players against Serie A clubs let alone far wealthier leagues.
a fire should be dampened down before it turn out to be explosion. the cap himself is not perfect and his teammates know it very well. the situation which is not ideal would turn out to be each player blaming eo. and if the explosion reaches the peak, there would be no trust inside the team and they are no longer play as a team aka toxical. almost every year i encounter dramas after dramas that led to some players to go. it is like they still have never had a manageable system to avoid every drama.
Imo inter should punish the fire starter.. Lautaro.. Take the captain position from him.. It shouldn’t matter for him if he really love inter like he claim..
This is another victim of our captain public comment.. Lol
why would he feel that way? if a person want to leave inter then he should leave soon. there is no wrong for our captain to angry to his lazy teammates
Yes there’s no wrong if the “captain” is angry.. as long as he said only to that person directly instead of saying that in public..
