Inter Milan and River Plate have opened talks for prodigious attacking midfielder Lucas Scarlato.

According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, negotiations are underway as the Italians aim to boost their U23 squad.

It’s no secret that the San Siro giants are working around the clock to assemble a competitive U23 team.

Indeed, Inter’s U23 side will make its Serie C debut in 2025/26.

Therefore, Stefano Vecchi has returned to the club to take charge of the Primavera for the second time.

Inter’s main intention is to keep hold of their most-wanted youngster.

As such, Thomas Berenbruch, above everyone else, should stay at Appiano Gentile next season.

Furthermore, the Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen Vecchi’s options in the engine room.

Born in 2009, Scarlato is among the most talented products of River Plate’s academy.

Indeed, he’s a versatile attacking midfield, capable of dropping deeper into the park to help in the build-up.

Meanwhile, negotiations are progressing smoothly, meaning Scarlato could soon arrive in Milan to sign papers.
