Fabio Capello believes Francesco Camarda should’ve stayed at AC Milan, and that Francesco Pio Esposito could use another loan.
The former Rossoneri coach gave his thoughts in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
This coming season will see two young strikers from Milan starring in Serie A.
Inter Milan have decided to bring Francesco Pio Esposito into their first team. This comes after two successful loan spells at Spezia.
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri’s city rivals have loaned teenage striker Francesco Camarda to Lecce.
Camarda has had a few notable appearances for the Rossoneri first team. However, the move to Lecce will give the 17-year-old an opportunity to play more regularly.
However, former Milan coach Capello has his own views on the development of Camarda and Pio Esposito.
Capello: “Camarda Should’ve Stayed At AC Milan, Pio Esposito Could Use Another Loan”

Capello argued that “Francesco Camarda is ready.”
“If you have a young talent like that you should keep him and let him play,” he continued.
“He should’ve stayed with the Rossoneri. Especially since Milan are only playing in the league.”
Capello anoted that Camarda “has already passed the San Siro test with flying colours.”
“He could have played consistently at Milan, too. They’re looking for a centre-forward now.”
Meanwhile, Capello gave his thoughts on Inter striker Francesco Pio Esposito. “Pio performed well at the Club World Cup,” he said.
“But he hasn’t passed the San Siro test yet,” Capello said.
“It’s true that Inter are playing on several fronts and Milan are just playing in the league, but if Chivu believes Ademola Lookman is more ready and tactically suited to the project, Pio Esposito could use another year on loan.”
“These are assessment the coach and management have to make on a case-by-case basis,” Capello argued.
as much as i don’t like what he said, most of the times, he said the harsh truths. a loan for young players for a season or two is beneficial for their growths, not for us (in short terms). and most of young players that we kept always had unsatisfied results rather than loaning/selling them out and it’s fact. esp if we really trying to sign lookman. so for the sake of pio himself to follow lautaro (who established himself first at racing), barella (cagliari), bastoni (atalanta), dimarco (hellas verona), let him be loaned out.
This logic makes no sense and is why Italy never trusts young players. If Milan followed this logic they would never have kept Camarda last season, And he would never had been able to past the “San siro” test. Young players have to be given the opportunity to TAKE the test before they can pass it.
Another reason his Logic is wrong is because We play in every tournament this season, we need rotation, Milan does not. Carmada will not have much playing time this season at Milan. This guy like most of Serie A execs still havent upgraded their thinking to the new decade of football and still think this is 2005.
Pio Esposito has still not proven he’s reasy for Inter. There have been some positive sparks here and there but there is still long way for him to prove his worth. I wouldn’t be surprised if Inter tries to ship him over to Parma or Sassuolo next summer.
His first season hasnt even started and your already using “Still” and “Yet” lol relax. you use those words after a few months. He hasnt had his chance yet, not that he hasnt proven himself. He has proven himself as much as he could thats why he’s staying this season.
its actually the opposite but ofc he says this is was a bilan coach
ma perche Fabio
ma perche Fabio
He could. But we need him. Chill fabio. Retire
He is retired.
