Inter Milan have offered €40 million plus add-ons to Roma for midfielder Manu Kone.
This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio. He reports, via FCInterNews, that the Nerazzurri have offered a similar amount to that which they bid for Ademola Lookman.
Manu Kone has emerged as a surprise transfer opportunity for Inter Milan.
The Nerazzurri reportedly see the France international as an ideal profile for the holding midfield position.
Inter have no shortage of midfielders who can play in a more advanced role.
However, midfielders like Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu are not as well-suited to playing in a double pivot.

Therefore, it looks as though Inter could be shifting their strategy and investing in central midfield rather than in attack.
Di Marzio furthermore reports that Roma have yet to decide whether to green light a transfer for Kone.
However, the Giallorossi could decide to cash in on the Frenchman in order to fund a signing in attack, he predicts.
Something nothing making sense. Why buy Manu Kone when Inter have so many midfielders? What was the point of buying Lookman? What is the formation or formation change? They reject a 35 million bid for the person who actually made them lost the title last year and lose out on De winter and Leoni. We have many midfielders, but most of them are unreliable. Asllani is not Inter material. Hakan, Mikhi and Zielinski are in fast decline due to age. I would have preferred Jashari for 35 mln though.
if I was Roma, I would accept or ask for straight swap Kone for Frattesi.

And not to harp on, but if Liverpool agreed a fee of £26 million for Leoni (way lower than the supposed €40 million) – then why haven’t we at least matched the bid?? Why not try to speak to Leoni, and persuade him that going to Liverpool to be 4th or 5th choice Centre back might not be the best thing to do for his career path?? Probably because we never had any intention whatsoever of trying to sign him!! Lets just play a high line with our geriatric defence, and see what happens…..

Buying players for silly fees that are nowhere near the level needed is just gonna stick us immediately back in the financial hole we were in.
I was encouraged when I heard we were going to invest and in younger guys with potential, leoni fits the bill perfectly and would have likely made us a tidy amount in 18-24 months.
But we have morons running the show who are looking at a bit part Roma guy who won’t play for us for essentially the money we won’t fork out for something we actually need in a decent CB or lookman etc
