New Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu intends to keep his pre-season promise and fit Davide Frattesi into his system.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Romanian is trying to find a place for the Italian in his starting line-up.
Davide Frattesi was on the verge of leaving Inter last January.
Indeed, tired of sitting on the margins, he tried to force his move to Roma, but Simone Inzaghi blocked the transfer.
However, the former Nerazzurri boss never trusted the 25-year-old enough to make him a regular starter.
New Inter Milan Boss Cristian Chivu Trying to Fit Davide Frattesi into His Set-up

Frattesi would’ve probably been part of Inter’s history had Inzaghi stayed at the helm.
Yet, Chivu’s arrival has been a game-changer, with the ex-Parma coach convincing the player to stay.
Indeed, the 44-year-old has promised to give the Italian midfielder a more prominent role at San Siro.
Frattesi feels more comfortable playing closer to the goal, and Chivu’s 3-4-2-1 formation appeared ideal for his attacking instincts.
But the player has yet to feature for Inter this season, raising questions over Chivu’s readiness to fulfill his promise.
The temptation is obviously to stick with the back 3, as the players know the system so well, but if I was Chivu, I’d be tempted to get radical, and switch to a 4-2-3-1… Reasons being that teams have figured us out, and we need to switch things up!
Dumfries is obviously the RB, I’d go with Akanji and Bastoni as my centre back pairing, and then at left back its DiMarco if we want to attack, and Augusto if we want to defend….
Barella and Sucic could be the double pivot, hoping that Diouf will settle, and can provide an alternative as a ball carrying box to box midfielder, and you can then have Frattesi as the AMC… You have Thuram, Bonny and Henrique for the winger options, and Pio to back up Lautaro up front… the likes of Hakan, Miki and Zielinski are there as emergency back ups, along with Acerbi and DeVrij…. Gotta be worth a try, but then I guess its not my job on the line….
good idea, but when is that supposed to be implemented…next game, next month or after a couple of losses with the 3-5-2 and the hope of salvation is slim enough to trigger a tactical change?
Very good formation
inter sudah banyak memiliki gelandang berhubung taremi udah ke Olympiakos dan inter kekurangan seorg striker & gagal mendatangkan ademola Lookman jln alternatif fratessi bisa di jdikan striker dadakan sambil menunggu bursa transfer berikutnya itupun kalau inter beli pemain khususnya setriker bukan cuma mengincar doang beli kagak
I like this idea Inglese Ultra or the 3-4-2-1, double pivot has chivu a little hesitant, maybe there will be a loss of control, but you’re intention is to be more vertical anyway, so I think he wants to respect the players that achieved a lot with us, and wants to try things gradually rather than to shock the system, but I think sooner rather than later the system will probably need this shock. In the 3-4-2-1 I would like to see Esposito upfront with Lautaro and Thuram behind him or Lautaro upfront with Bonny and Thuram behind him.
I agree that we need to evolve, but 4231 doesn’t work too well in Serie A and europe, one because it reminds me of the banter era, if we dont spend billions for creative wingers we are just mediocre at best, secondly we will struggle to score playing with one forward that is quite wasteful, we can look at Milan Juve Bologna playing this formation, struggle to score more than 1.5, or in europe teams playing with this formation struggle to win consistently. If we look at our stats, our 352 has good track record against team playing with 4 defenders that’s why we had almost a perfect record going to final. A guaranteed win against team playing 433 and 3421, like Torino last week, Lazio, Atalanta, Feyenoord, Napoli before Conte, we win big and easy against them. We used to beat 4231 that plays wide, like Milan under Pioli, Bayern or Barcelona, but last season some teams transform into compact/dynamic 4231 that can hurt us through the middle like PSG, Juve, Bologna, or Milan under Conceicao, they outnumber our midfield. 3421 works best against 4231, Atalanta beat Juve Milan Bologna without problem last season, or see how Crystal Palace beat Aston Villa 3-0 every time they meet, Nice beat PSG 1-3 at home too.
Lastly, how we deal with 352 like Udinese last week, it is always tight game, in most cases we have the upper hand, but thet key is not to concede first and the opponent will quickly turn into low block, I think 3412 will work, because if we look back into the game, we always struggle to fill the opposition half quick enough, we push the ball wide and stop there and reset all the time, so the AMC role is the deal breaker, so switching between 352/3421/3412 will give us good coverage against most teams, the only thing that is missing from this team, that I have pointed as no 1 priority, is a good holding midfielder that can also play forward if we play 4 in midfield.
Lots of interesting and presumably valid points. 4-2-3-1 also won us the champions league, so not only from Banter era. But maybe not a formation to experiment with based on your information, but I also like the picture inglese ultra is painting.
On a separate note, I find the defenders static both in the build up and defensively. Inzaghi would have the defenders participate more in the buildup or get into attacking positions when we were down. And nobody wants to see defenders escorting the opposition. So hopefully some improvement in the defending at the very least.
