Milan Skriniar left Inter Milan in the summer of 2023 to join perennial Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
In an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio via FCInterNews, he revealed the real reason behind his transfer to the Parc des Princes.
Signed from Sampdoria in 2017, Milan Skriniar grew to become one of Inter’s most influential figures.
Indeed, the Slovakian center-back established himself as one of Europe’s best defenders.
In addition to cementing his place in the starting iine-up, Skriniar earned the captain’s armband at San Siro.
Therefore, he lived a dream in Serie A.
However, his scintillating form for Inter didn’t go unnoticed.
As he was approaching the final year of his contract, foreign clubs, including PSG, began circling.
Despite his household status at Inter, Skriniar decided to cut ties with the Nerazzurri two years ago.
Instead, he chose a lucrative deal in Paris, which ultimately didn’t work out.
Milan Skriniar Reveals Why He Left Inter Milan to Join PSG

Frustrated with a lack of game time at PSG, Skriniar left France last winter.
Indeed, he joined Fenerbahce on loan before signing a permanent contract this summer.
Meanwhile, he recalls his difficult moments in Paris.
Marotta fucked up on this one we lost 63 million
Everyone butthurt cuz he finished his contract and moved on for a bigger salary. Well wake the fuck up, cuz being a footballer is business. There is no love anymore like in Zanettis time. And why he wasnt sold to get at least some money like PSG did with Donnarumma for instance is pure Managements fault for thrusting him that he would sign a new contract. I guess Marotta learned his lesson the hard way.
“Inter told me that if they didn’t receive an offer for another player in the squad, they would sell me. They wanted to bring in a player with different characteristics from mine. In the end, they didn’t manage to sign him and the club said they wouldn’t sell me anymore.”
well if this was true, i guess all clubs have been operating like this until today.
and yeah, it is all about business. feelings only apply to fans, players are just machines & clubs are always bigger than players. just take it or leave it.
Been dead to me for 2 plus years.
Sure thing buddy. Bye
oh please
he never won UCL with PSG. Got booted by Enrique. Lmao!
He was the captain. He sold out and destroyed his career for a bit of money. Short term financial gain, but long term HUGE financial loss. No one in the football world or at Inter care about Skriniar anymore.
you sum it up perfectly
He may have Captained the team occasionally, but he was never our Captain.
yeah
It was never meant to be. Look at his first name 🙂
his first name match with inter last name 🙂
