Retired Italy and Serie A forward Antonio Cassano has slammed former Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi, claiming “Allegri would have won the Scudetto every season” in his place.
The sensational comments come from Cassano’s Twitch show Viva el Futbol, with quotes via FCInterNews.
The retired forward hit out at Inzaghi, claiming “In four years he won one Scudetto and threw away three.”
“They still have to explain to me what exactly he’s supposed to be good at,” he continued.
“If Allegri, whom I’ve always criticised, had that team for four years,” Cassano said, “he would have won the Scudetto every season.”
Allegri took over as head coach at Inter’s fierce local rivals Milan this summer.
Cassano Hits Out At Inzaghi And Claims Allegri Would’ve Done Better For Inter
Cassano claims that Inzaghi did a disappointing job at Inter, despite the club reaching two Champions League finals.
“Inzaghi, on the other hand,” he said, “was considered a phenomenon by most Inter fans.”
“But,” he continued, “he already had an agreement to leave for €25 million a year. He hasn’t won anything, that’s a fact.”
Inzaghi left Inter in the summer to start a new adventure at Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
The news broke just days after the Nerazzurri’s heavy 5-0 defeat to PSG in the Champions League final.
Inter eventually replaced the Italian with a former player in Cristian Chivu.
The Nerazzurri hired the Romanian off the back of a successful stint with Parma.
Last season, Chivu helped his side avoid relegation.
Life under Chivu has had a rocky start, however, with the Nerazzurri’s shock exit from the Club World Cup.
Following this, Inter have picked up just three points from their first three games in Serie A.
But will Alegri bring Inter to 2 UCL finals though?

Cassano criticized Inzaghi for not winning enough and for his “anti-football”. So he doesn’t mind “anti-football” as long as the team wins? Because Allegri is even worse than Inzaghi in terms of spectacle.
