Inter head coach Cristian Chivu praised his team’s attitude after a commanding 4-1 win over Cremonese at San Siro, adding he is “delighted” for French forward Ange-Yoan Bonny after he picked up three assists and a goal on his first start for the coach in Nerazzurri colours.
It was a result that made it five consecutive victories across Serie A and the Champions League as they put a shaky start to the campaign behind them.
“For once, I’ll take the positives from what we did,” Chivu told DAZN, with quotes via FCInterNews.
“We were dominant, we enjoyed ourselves, and we had the right attitude. We stayed organised, pressed well, and scored again from our pressure.
“The goal we conceded? It’s fine, no problem. I’ll take 85 minutes of real quality and intensity. I’m proud of this group, they’re working hard to reach our goals.”
The Romanian coach added: “We can always improve but we also have to be happy with what we’re doing.
“We’ve found continuity, happiness, and passion in our football. It was great to see the team enjoying themselves and playing with freedom.”
Chivu “Delighted” For Bonny After MOTM Performance In Inter 4-1 Cremonese

When asked how to build on such a strong performance, Chivu replied: “Perfection doesn’t exist, and we’re not chasing it. We just want to have fun responsibly.
“We needed patience attacking their low block and to press in the right moments.
“Of course, I’ll still find something to say to the players: that’s my job.”
On match-winner Ange-Yoan Bonny, Chivu was full of praise:
“I’m delighted for him: for his goal and for how much he helped the team. Up front we’ve got two young players and two experienced ones raising the bar.
“The whole group is happy for our young guys.”
The Frenchman joined Chivu in making the move from Parma to Inter in the summer.
Tonight was the youngster’s first start under his former Parma mentor and he made a real case for more minutes moving forward.
This presents Chivu with somewhat of a selection headache, with two talented young forwards in Francesco Pio Esposito and Bonny.
Whilst Marcus Thuram sits out with injury, it is not too much of a problem.
However, when everyone is fully fit, the Romanian may struggle to give everyone the minutes they need.
As for Denzel Dumfries’ visible frustration late in the game, Chivu brushed it off with humour:
“It’s good that he’s angry: he should be. He can be mad at me, the world, whoever. He’s a great person and a key player for us and for his national team.
“I’m happy with him, but like everyone else, he can still give more.”
Asked if he would watch Juventus vs Milan later in the weekend, Chivu grinned: “No thanks, I’ll watch the NFL.”
It is incredible how one bad player can drop the level of quality and perfomance of the entire team. We were destroying Cremonese, they couldn’t get the possesion of a ball for more than 2 seconds, until Diouf start playing.
Overall great performance but still disapointed to lose a goal late on from our left hand side again. Lost count how many goals we concede from that area
love the Denzel answer. he’s been great but was off today and needs to be kept on his toes. angry Denzel is a good Denzel.
next several weeks after the break will prove us if this team worthy of this season top two or not
Juve and Atalanta will slowly get left behind and will fight for 4th place. And we will fight with Milan and Napoli for 1st, Milan cause they don’t play Europe and because Allegri tightened his squad real well, big difference with last season for them. The only way Napoli won’t fight us is if Conte finally grew some balls to compete for all trophies, not just our league.
Napoli have no choice to compete even if they want to get eliminated early they’ll still waste a lot of energy doing so. It’s Milan who are dangerous as they have no midweek commitment but their style of play can lead to a LOT of draws tho
after January we’ll know
I love Chivu’s high pressing game. It’s a breath of fresh air, especially in Serie A. Players seem to have better stamina this year under him which is crucial for his tactics. Only thing left is to see how team performs against other great teams.
Should be the same or less intensity which is normal against teams with a bigger budget than us
