Cristian Chivu faces a key attacking dilemma ahead of Inter Milan’s trip to Roma, with Marcus Thuram almost certain to miss out through injury and Ange-Yoan Bonny tipped to stay in the XI.

According to Sky Sport, via FCInterNews, the French forward is still managing muscle discomfort in his left thigh and trained separately again today.

The plan is to have him back in full contention for the Napoli clash on October 25 at the Maradona.

“Thuram worked individually again today and is expected to return for Napoli,” reported Sky, effectively ruling him out for the weekend.

That leaves Chivu weighing up his options alongside Lautaro Martínez.

Martinez returned from international duty in top form after scoring twice for Argentina against Puerto Rico.

For now, Ange-Yoan Bonny is slightly ahead of Francesco Pio Esposito in the race for a starting spot.

The former Parma striker’s edge comes from having remained in Milan throughout the break.

Furthermore, he impressed the staff with his fitness and sharpness in training.

Sky note that Bonny’s physical presence and chemistry with Lautaro could give him the nod.

Regardless, it promises to be a high-intensity encounter at the Olimpico.
