Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu has decided to retain Ange-Yoan Bonny in attack for tonight’s Serie A showdown against Roma, partnering captain Lautaro Martinez at the Stadio Olimpico.
This evening’s Matchday 7 clash kicks off at 20:45 local time (19:45 BST) in the Italian capital, as Inter look to extend their impressive winning streak in both Serie A and the Champions League.
The Nerazzurri arrive on the back of five consecutive victories across all competitions and will aim to maintain their momentum against a Roma side rejuvenated under Gian Piero Gasperini.

The coach decides who plays and who is benched based on how the pre-game practice went, how the players fit in his strategy, how they bring stability and reliability. So to the F* experts: stfu instead of negative comments on Miki, Barella, Dimarco, or Bonny, etc, and instead gfy. These guys are doing what the coach expects of them. mhiki frustrates me so much!! does so many things right.. and then at crucial moments f* up so bad. that being said barella and toro were quite average today. we were lucky that roma were pretty bad today. we had luck on our side lots of 50:50 balls went our way. though I can finally see chivu stepping out of inzaghis shadow. his game plan and ideas are showing. dimarco was a beast in defence, has been a long time since i said this. i really had my heart in mouth when basto conceded that idiotic foul in the 89th min. exactly how kephrem scored for merda. anyway forza inter… we can only get better .

We won, but we made a bad performance.
The game highlighted Chivu’s lack of experience and limitations that come from it.

His subs were on point tho. He knew he needed to win the midfield battle against Rome, and he did it correctly. Thuram presence will make his life easier, but at least the midfield performance helped him. He didn’t try to drop deep when defending like Inzaghi used to do. It was a bit higher than we used to do like seasons before. Anyway, seeing Pio helped the team upfront was just beautiful to watch.

i think the biggest difference between inzagi inter and chivu inter, is when we park the bus we leave our strikers up front to keep the opposition humble. esposito played the most crucial role according to me in securing the win. kept drawing fouls and excellent hold up play..
