At the Olimpico, Cristian Chivu’s Inter produced what the Corriere dello Sport called “il delitto perfetto” – the perfect crime. The director was Chivu and the lead actor was Ange-Yoan Bonny.
The 21-year-old French forward has rapidly become one of the symbols of this new Inter and scored again in Saturday night’s win over Roma.
With Marcus Thuram sidelined by a muscle issue, Chivu turned again to the young striker he had helped develop at Parma and then brought with him to Appiano.
The coach has never hesitated to trust Bonny, not even on a night of this magnitude, the reports claim via FCInterNews.
Alongside a fatigued but determined Lautaro Martinez, Bonny was tasked with stretching Roma’s backline and attacking space.
Early on, the first connection with Nicolo Barella wasn’t quite clean, “the first movement was wrong,” noted the Corriere.
Roma 0-1 Inter – Bonny Plays Key Role For Chivu In Victory

However, the key moment arrived just minutes later.
With Roma defending high, Barella delivered the perfect vertical pass.
This time Bonny’s timing to stay onside was flawless.
The control and finish were not textbook, but they were enough to beat Svilar and seal the decisive 1–0.
The newspaper highlighted Bonny’s defining trait as the vertical forward Inter needed to exploit Roma’s aggressive setup.
His constant runs also drew the booking of N’Dicka, forcing the Giallorossi to be more cautious for the rest of the match.
He had less time to link up with Francesco Pio Esposito, however, who entered after Lautaro came off.
As Barella said post-match, “Inter have found themselves again.”
And Bonny continues to prove that Chivu’s faith is anything but misplaced.
