Corriere della Sera has highlighted the most striking takeaway from the press conference of Cristian Chivu ahead of Napoli vs Inter, focusing on his comments about Andy Diouf and Luis Henrique.
The coach openly acknowledged that the two summer signings are “not yet ready for the impact with Italian football”, via FCInterNews.
Furthermore, Chivu noted that growth, adaptation and maturity will still take time for both players.
Chivu Makes Assessment On Inter Milan Duo Diouf and Luis Henrique

The newspaper contrasted Chivu’s words with Inter’s strategy in the last transfer window.
They pointed out that the club chose to invest heavily in future potential rather than immediate certainty.
Between Diouf and Luis Henrique, the Nerazzurri spent a combined €50 million.
Therefore, the Corriere claim how a more established player could have been signed for that.
Chivu, however, reiterated that the pair are progressing in training and will have their moment.
Therefore stressing that development is not linear for young arrivals in Serie A.
For now, they remain options for rotation.
Inter’s coach insisting that readiness will dictate when they are trusted with more minutes.

I agree with Val that it was a mistake to get rid of zalewski and Buchanan. I think they did it to help balance thier books. As for Diouf and Henrique I agree with chivu.. they need more time. Some pple can arrive to a team and settle in right away. But some pple need time. When dumfries arrived he was horrible.. and it took him a long time to become a key player.. it’s too early to past judgment on new arrivals.
I agree it’s still early to call them a flop, but we also can’t wait two years for them to adjust. Selling Zalewski who can cover multiple positions is a bad decision. As for Buchanan, he didn’t really show much even at Villarreal. CL games were terrible.
I think selling tajon and getting henrique, and then selling zalewski and getting diouf, was the most idiotic thing we did.. zalewski was just about starting to sparkle as amf, and tj was just back from injury…. simply idiotic
.
I know they’ve changed league and all, need adjustment period, but Diouf showed 0 effort when he got chance, Luis had more minutes to show something, but beside 1 ok halftime, the rest were subpar games, maybe he can’t play as wingback.
