With Henrikh Mkhitaryan facing a month-long spell on the sidelines, Petar Sucic and Piotr Zielinski are vying for a vacant post in the midfield.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, this could also be an opportunity for Andy Diouf to get some minutes this season.
In addition to conceding a controversial penalty in a 3-1 loss at Napoli on Saturday, Henrikh Mkhitaryan picked up an injury.
Indeed, the 36-year-old could be out for at least four weeks with a thigh problem, leaving a gap in the Inter Milan midfield.
Zielinski & Sucic to Replace Injured Mkhitaryan

Piotr Zielinski took Mkhitaryan’s place at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, entering the field in the 32nd minute.
However, the Polish star failed to impress, making Cristian Chivu reassess his midfield options.
Meanwhile, Sucic has tumbled down the pecking order following an outstanding start to life at San Siro.
Indeed, the 21-year-old made his last Serie A start in a 2-1 home win over Sassuolo in mid-September.
Yet, with Mkhitaryan unavailable, Sucic could get a more prominent role once again.
Furthermore, Diouf may not get a better chance to convince Chivu that this one.

This should open up the 3-4-2-1 but this is probably asking for too much courage from a coach that prioritizes courage.
