Life at Inter Milan for Andy Diouf has not gone to plan.
Signed from Lens this summer for around €25 million, the French midfielder was expected to become a dynamic, box-to-box presence in Cristian Chivu’s system.
Instead, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Diouf has become what they call an “oggetto misterioso” – a mystery object.
So far, the 22-year-old has played just 26 minutes in Serie A across appearances against Torino and Cremonese, the fewest in the squad after Matteo Darmian.
Described as “light, timid, and uncertain,” Diouf has struggled to impose himself physically or tactically in a side that demands aggression and intensity from its midfielders.
Diouf Could Be Loaned Out In January As Inter Milan Plot Frendrup Swoop

Even when introduced in comfortable game states, his cameos have been hesitant, lacking rhythm and confidence.
Sources close to Appiano Gentile suggest that Chivu had hoped to use these brief opportunities to help the player integrate.
However, the early signs have not been encouraging.
As a result, Inter’s directors are weighing the option of a loan move in January.
Therefore, this would allow Diouf to gain experience elsewhere.
Therefore it would free up a midfield slot for another addition, with Morten Frendrup among the names under consideration.

we are facing a tight schedule and rotation of players is key. Despite that, during the match in Verona Chivu, instead of resting some of the first team players (Barella, Di Marco..) had to recall them because we bought garbage during the summer transfer window who simply do not know how to play!
I know that he’s made mistakes leading to goals, but to be honest, in that second appearance, I actually saw a few glimpses of what he could bring to the team, unlike Henrique, who has had far more minutes, but failed to put a stamp on any game he’s played in…. I’d still like to think they might turn it around, but the early signs aren’t good….
The only person struggling more than Diouf right now is Davide. His failed troll attempts are getting more desperate and he keeps exposing his stupidity every time he shows up, which isn’t that often now that Chivu keeps winning.
So, so true. That troll is exposing more stupidity with each comment, as he has done everytime. No one is attacking him – he is attacking common sense with his stupidity. Let’s just remember that is his world “Inter will fight for relegation” and Moratti is “a loser”.
The best thing to do is to ignore him completely…. if nobody answers to him, he’ll realise how little everyone thinks of him….
when you think that we spent 50 mil on Diouf and Henrique..i feel sick in my stomach :))
Meanwhile Asllani has started to warm the bench at Torino. Selling him and Diouf next summer will be an interesting task.
