Francesco Pio Esposito looks set to make his third Champions League start when Inter Milan take on Kairat Almaty tomorrow night.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the young striker has emerged as a frontrunner to spearhead Inter’s attack.

Esposito started on the bench in Sunday’s dramatic 2-1 Serie A win over Hellas Verona.

However, the 20-year-old took Ange-Yoan Bonny’s place early in the second half as the Frenchman struggled at the Bentegodi.

Meanwhile, he could start at the expense of Lautaro Martinez tomorrow.

With fatigue catching up with El Toro, this looks like a perfect opportunity for Cristian Chivu to rest his captain.

Therefore, Esposito could line up alongside Bonny in the final third.

Elsewhere, Chivu is contemplating several changes at the back.

Indeed, Stefan de Vrij is the favorite to start ahead of Manuel Akanji, with Francesco Acerbi also vying for a starting berth.

Furthermore, Hakan Calhanoglu desperately needs some rest, with Davide Frattesi expected to start in the midfield.

Therefore, Nicolo Barella could once again operate as a deep-lying playmaker.
