Davide Frattesi failed to shine in a rare start this season as Inter Milan squeaked past Kairat Almaty last night.
According to the Italian media via L’Interista, the 26-year-old performed below expectations in his second European start this term.
Despite pulling off a crucial 2-1 victory at San Siro, it was not an idyllic night for the Nerazzurri by any means.
Indeed, Carlos Augusto grabbed a stunning winner to save the day.
Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez netted his 15th Champions League goal of 2025 to open the scoring.
However, the overall performance was underwhelming.
Frattesi Struggles in Inter Milan 2-1 Kairat Almaty Win

With Cristian Chivu deciding to rest Hakan Calhanoglu, space opened for Frattesi to return to the starting XI.
Yet, the former Sassuolo midfielder failed to seize the opportunity.
Indeed, he seemed up the creek without a paddle all night, often lacking his usual sharpness and clinical instincts.
Moreover, he thought he had drawn a penalty for Inter, only for referee Luis Godinho to wave ‘play on.’
Overall, it was not a memorable night for the Italian ace.
He’s a true sub player who do best when he’s introduced when opponents are already tired. It’s clear now he doesn’t have what it takes to keep starting but the choice is his at this point
swap him with kone or sell him to Newcastle and move on
I guess its time for us to admit he is not Inter material. I thought he wasn’t getting the opportunity but he just wasn’t good enough to play. As a midfielder he does excel in dribbling , passing or creativity.
he should be a striker than a midfielder. Or the shadow striker.
Even as a shadow striker he has a low level of tactical intelligence.
True. Running around trying to help everywhere is admirable, but there are certain tackts that need to be respected. Otherwise it all falls apart. Leaving a huge gap because of passion. Its really sad. He has the workrate and stamina, motivation and skills. But will only fit a certain formation and a pretty specific tacktic that might not fortune the rest of the team. Though he would shine in a smaller team where 10 losses are not the end of the world. Roma would fit as he is a youngster and i’m sure gasp will take the best out of him. Will probably score at least once every 3 games against us after all the benching.
Cant hate him though. Instrumental from the bench for the second star with some late goals and that goal vs bursa…
Still hope Chivu can turn him around. I guess we’ll see
he could take eriksen for example, how a low of language skill limited his appearances at the beginning but turned out to cement his position to be the first best generation of mezalla of inter after changing from 4 defs to 3 defs
