Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zielinski has undergone a renaissance under Cristian Chivu’s tutelage this season.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 31-year-old’s return to form comes as a mid-season signing for the Nerazzurri.

Piotr Zielinski joined Inter from Napoli in the summer of 2024 as one of the best midfielders in Serie A.

However, several injury setbacks and inability to adapt to Simone Inzaghi’s system saw the Polish star struggle last season.

Indeed, Zielinski’s only league goals in 2024/25 came from the spot in an iconic 4-4 draw against Juventus.

Zielinski had started the season as a backup option for Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Furthermore, he had even found himself behind summer signing Petar Sucic in the pecking order.

Yet, the versatile midfielder has fought his way up the hierarchy after Mkhitaryan’s injury.

Indeed, Zielinski’s recent performances have earned him broad plaudits and, more importantly, Chivu’s trust.

Meanwhile, the Pole scored his first goal for Inter from open play in a dramatic 2-1 win at Hellas Verona.

Then, he had another goal disallowed for a handball in the build-up play during Inter’s 2-0 home victory over Lazio.
