Manchester City loanee Manuel Akanji is keen to complete a permanent transfer to Inter Milan at the end of the season.
Speaking to Blick via FCInterNews, the 30-year-old is eager to secure a permanent move to San Siro.
Manuel Akanji joined Inter on a season-long loan from Man City on deadline day.
Furthermore, the Nerazzurri can sign the Swiss defender permanently next summer for a fee of €15 million.
Based on Akanji’s superb form this season, it’s become a virtual certainty that Inter will activate the buyout option.
Indeed, the former Borussia Dortmund has quickly established himself as a regular starter under Cristian Chivu.
Akanji has made 13 appearances this season, including nine in Serie A, helping Inter ascend the league throne.
In addition, Chivu’s men are one of only three sides to have won all four Champions League games this season.
Much credit goes to Akanji and his fellow defensive colleagues, who kept three clean sheets in those four wins.
Manuel Akanji Keen to Stay at Inter Milan

Akanji addressed his sudden departure from Man City in the summer.
“I organised a farewell dinner,” he said. “It was very nice.
“I haven’t yet had a chance to say goodbye to the staff, but who knows what will happen next summer. For now, I’d like to stay at Inter.
“At Inter I’ve only played three matches in front of all the fans because there was previously an issue with the supporters.
“The atmosphere was really, really great and I enjoy playing there.
“But Dortmund’s Yellow Wall was incredible too. We’ll play there soon with Inter, and I can’t wait.
“I feel very good. The hardest part of settling in was organising everything for the kids; we’ve adjusted well.
“There are still a few things to sort, but things are going well.”
Then, he opened up about his relationship with Yann Sommer.
“We get on very well, we do many things together now that we play for the same club.
“And we live just a few minutes’ walk from each other. We also talk a lot about the national team.
“He asks how people are and sends his regards. But I don’t think he is planning a return. He’s happy to have a bit more free time.”
Finally, he offered his thoughts about Serie A’s intention to stage some matches abroad.
“I don’t like it. We already travel a lot.
“I don’t know exactly where these matches will be played, but there’s talk in Serie A of a game in Australia.
“That would be a huge trip, then there’s jet lag. Unfortunately, I can’t make a decision.”

Its a bargain, no doubt. He can play for next 4-5 years and in the meantime, get some young defenders t slowly melt in and establish themselves. It is not so common for defenders to be established in top teams before age 22-23, and the exeptions usually costs +50-60 mill. Remember the purchase Juventus dis a few years ago buying the wonderkid from Ajax, De Ligt, I believe it was about 80 mill!, and what happened later. Now he´s ok in man united but not worth 80 mill, far from.
This a no-brainer. If we let him leave then we aren’t serious about anything.
Yea I agree. You would have to be brainless to think getting him permanently at that age would be good for Inter.
what? he’s 30 not 35. he’s got years left in football
You understand that not every player has to be under 20, right?
please no
Please yes, If Acerbi leaves us in January and Akanji also, what would we do with our defense?
