Inter Milan are seriously evaluating the possibility of bringing Aleksandar Stankovic back to San Siro after his impressive development at Club Brugge, according to Tuttosport.

The Serbian midfielder, sold to the Belgian club last summer for €9.5 million, has quickly established himself as a regular and recently made his debut for the Serbia national team.

His progress has not gone unnoticed in Milan, where the Nerazzurri retain a double buy-back clause, €23 million in 2026 and €25 million in 2027.

The reports suggest, via FCInterNews, Inter could now be tempted to exercise that option, especially as Cristian Chivu knows the player well from their time together in the Primavera between 2022 and 2024.

Stankovic could become a natural understudy to Hakan Calhanoglu, offering depth and continuity in the regista role.

His rising profile has also caught the attention of Tottenham and Newcastle, meaning Inter’s option could soon look like a bargain.

However, the club’s current plan is to reintegrate Stankovic into the first-team project, valuing his tactical intelligence and familiarity with Chivu’s system.

Alternatively, Inter may choose to leave him in Belgium for another season to strengthen their relationship with Brugge.

Indeed, a move that could help secure defender Ordonez, one of their targets for 2026.
