Italian journalist Riccardo Trevisani slammed Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer after last night’s Derby della Madonnina defeat.
Speaking to Pressing via FCInterNews, Trevisani delivered a brutal verdict on the veteran’s display.
Yann Sommer fell short of expectations in Inter’s heartbreaking 1-0 defeat to bitter rivals AC Milan.
Indeed, his poor reaction to Alexis Saelemaekers’ shot enabled Christian Pulisic to find the winning goal.
However, it’s also worth mentioning that Manuel Akanji lost sight of the USMNT forward, who tapped the rebound into an empty net.
Yet, Sommer came under heavy scrutiny again despite his return to form following a dismal showing against Juventus.
Meanwhile, Milan star Mike Maignan showed his Inter counterpart how it’s done.
The French shot-stopper earned a flattering ‘Man of the Match’ award for a remarkable performance in the derby.
For perspective, his superb save to deny Hakan Calhanoglu from the spot helped Milan claim the city’s bragging rights.
Riccardo Trevisani Blasts Yann Sommer After Inter 0-1 Milan

“Milan have a great goalkeeper; Inter don’t have a goalkeeper,” Trevisani stated.
Furthermore, the Italian journalist backed the Rossoneri to challenge Inter for the Scudetto.
“The advantage of not having European competitions is enormous,” he added. “They always do well in head-to-head clashes.
“They need to learn how to handle games better against teams that sit deep, because against those sides, they usually do well.”
Meanwhile, he commented on Inter’s dependence on their midfield trio.
“Inter depend heavily on their three midfielders,” he continued. “Sucic had a poor first half, Calhanoglu had a bad game, Barella was so-so.
“On the right, Carlos Augusto was playing out of position.
“In this context, with Lautaro also clearly not at his best, Inter could still have scored three goals.
“Lautaro scored 24 goals in a league season two years ago. Now he’s on 16 in a league season and a third.
“There’s no comparison. After the international break, Chivu took him off after an hour against Juventus, against Roma, and now again this time.”

For years I have been preaching about another central defender yet still Inter never went out and purchase one. Now the side can’t defend and they want to use Bisseck (who handled the ball and threw away the league last season) to play center. It’s about time people see that management have failed. They brought in the wrong coach and wasted money on unknowns that can’t even start. Marotta is to blame and it’s about time he leaves the club. His visions no longer suit the club. Everyone is in their prime Lautaro 28, thuram 28, barella, bastoni , Dumfries, dimarco all in their prime and their time have been wasted by stupid decisions made by Marotta. Inter is a failed club and any player looking for success should leave. Inzaghi did the right thing and left because Inter have no future with those stupid decisions made by management. Lautaro is overweight and finished. Inter can no longer continue with a striker that can’t score 15 goals. No wonder they can’t win the league again. But stupid Marotta will see no problem and continue with Lautaro for years because he is just a stupid fool. Buys players with no skill.
I am fan of Chivu but he keep going like that his time at the club are numbered
It’s not chivu who was in goal. It was sommer. Chivu only there to motivate his team and give them instructions.
I dont know if I watched the same game or not, but clearly, the conceding goal is 1st long term issue, too much space to let opponent shoot from outside box, 2nd, clearly Akanji is not checking enough to know Pulisic is sprinting to the goal to protect. How the fck it is all on Sommer?
Exactly like do Inter even do match analysis or do they pretend it was nodoby’s fault the goal was conceded because it wasn’t even Hakan but Acerbi who dropped way too deep then allowed the player to dribble with no real sense of trying to win the ball. He was so scared when it happened and you can see Acerbi is the weaklink in the team overall yet Chivu keeps using him on EVERY SINGLE BIG MATCH. Acerbi wouldn’t start in any of the top 5 teams yet he’s somehow the go choice when Inter are facing fast counter attacking teams like who in their right mind would think thats ok. That position now for better or worse should be for Bisseck who offers way more in this set up than Acerbi. Mistakes happen like losing the ball in midfield but someone must be aggressive to stop the transition and get a card or at the very least delay the attack Acerbi couldn’t do neither but in contrast Bisseck recently made a possible red card tackle to stop a counter something for now Acerbi can only imagine in his head like I’m not the only one seeing how incredibly stupid it is to use Acerbi I think at least Devrij has some mobility but it’s Bisseck who must be the one to getting used to playing in that position
