Inter Milan are preparing for life after Yann Sommer, with Guglielmo Vicario emerging as his potential successor.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the 29-year-old has once again found himself on Inter’s shortlist.
Guglielmo Vicario was reportedly Inter’s first choice to replace Andre Onana, who joined Manchester United in the summer of 2023.
However, the Nerazzurri eventually opted for Yann Sommer as a cheaper alternative, allowing Tottenham Hotspur to sign Vicario.

Despite his indispensable first-team status in North London, Vicario is reportedly keen to return to Serie A.
With Spurs struggling to find their footing under Thomas Frank, the Italian goalkeeper has fallen out of favor with the fans.
Therefore, the former Empoli star would be open to returning to his homeland at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Inter may need to splash up to €30 million to get Tottenham’s go-ahead.
However, the club’s management must first convince Oaktree to green-light the transfer.
Indeed, Vicario’s age conflicts with the American fund’s transfer policy, meaning Beppe Marotta will have to change their mind.
Personally I don’t like him and don’t rate him. I think he makes far too many mistakes and looks too nervous in his box. Sure he might improve at inter but he is already 29, so theres not too many years for him to improve. At that age we need a keeper who is complete and ready to go. I think our own Martinez is better or at least just as good.

Vicario will only become a better GK playing for Inter. Our goalkeeper coaches have always been top notch
He’s one of the best shot stoppers around, but he has his weaknesses- namely crosses and commanding his area…. for the price involved, I’d rather go for Caprile….
Reactions are good, but to many stupidmistakes. I cannot see him as a potential stalwart like Handanovic for ex.
Personally, i think Josep Martinez is more than ready as our first choice between the sticks. And considering Vicario’s squad status at Spurs, it will be too much money to spend on Vicario. Therefore, we just need to find a back-up or competition for Martinez.
