Stadio San Siro sets the stage for Tuesday’s mouth-watering Champions League showdown between Inter Milan and Liverpool.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri will be out to avenge their 2021/22 heartbreak.

Liverpool squeaked past Inter in the round of 16 that season, largely thanks to a 2-0 first-leg win at this venue.

Despite grabbing a 1-0 win at Anfield, courtesy of Lautaro Martinez’s stunning strike, Simone Inzaghi’s team bowed out of the competition.

Fast forward three years and Inter can claim their vengeance against a downtrodden Liverpool side.

Indeed, the Reds have won just one of their last six matches across all competitions.

Moreover, they slumped to a dreadful 4-1 home loss to PSV Eindhoven in their last Champions League fixture.

With Arne Slot on the verge of a mid-season farewell, Inter will look to pounce on the Merseyside giants’ turmoil.

More importantly, a win in this mammoth clash would steer the Nerazzurri a step closer to securing automatic last-16 qualification.
