A hamstring injury has reportedly ruled Hakan Calhanoglu out of Sunday’s Serie A showdown between Genoa and Inter Milan.
According to Sky Sport via FCInter1908, the 31-year-old will not be in contention for the squad this weekend.
Hakan Calhanoglu suffered a muscle injury in the early stages of Tuesday’s Champions League match against Liverpool.
Therefore, manager Cristian Chivu had to take his talismanic playmaker off after only 11 minutes, introducing Piotr Zielinski.
Hakan Calhanoglu Unavailable for Genoa vs Inter Milan Clash

Calhanoglu has reportedly avoided a serious injury but will not feature against Genoa as a precaution.
Indeed, Chivu is unwilling to risk aggravating the midfielder’s injury ahead of Inter’s Supercoppa Italiana duties.
The Nerazzurri will face reigning Coppa Italia champions Bologna in the Super Cup semi-finals next week.
Despite his fitness setback, Calhanoglu is expected to join Inter’s traveling squad for their trip to Riyadh.
In the meantime, Chivu must decide whether to put Petar Sucic or Zielinski at the heart of his midfield at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
