Inter Milan defender Matteo Darmian is reportedly on the verge of a long-awaited recovery from a calf injury.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInter1908, the 36-year-old could be fit for next week’s Supercoppa Italiana trip to Saudi Arabia.
Matteo Darmian suffered a long-term injury during Inter’s 3-0 home win over Slavia Prague in late September.
Therefore, the veteran defender has only made two competitive appearances this season.
However, he could return to the squad at the best possible moment for the Nerazzurri.
Inter Milan Star Matteo Darmian Set to Recover from Injury

Cristian Chivu has found himself strapped for reliable defensive options.
In addition to long-term absentee Denzel Dumfries, Inter lost Francesco Acerbi to a muscle injury on Tuesday.
Therefore, Darmian could not have timed his recovery any better.
Although he is likely to miss Sunday’s Serie A clash against Genoa, he should join the squad in Saudi Arabia next week.
Indeed, the San Siro giants will take on Bologna in a heavily anticipated semi-final tie in Riyadh.

Oh great, what a relief, 36 year old is ready to jump in as a starter..soon Chivu himself might decide to enter the pitch in the absence of viable alternatives..what a joke of a club we are
