Yann Bisseck and Lautaro Martinez inspired Inter Milan to a crucial 2-1 away win over Serie A minnows Genoa on Sunday evening.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Piotr Zielinski excelled in the absence of starting playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu.

Inter Milan will head into the heavily anticipated Supercoppa Italiana as Serie A leaders after winning at the Marassi.

Indeed, Cristian Chivu’s men have leapfrogged AC Milan and Napoli, who dropped points against Sassuolo and Udinese, respectively.

Inter took an early lead through an unlikely source as Yann Bisseck scored with his weaker left foot in the sixth minute.

Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez, who set the German up for Inter’s first, doubled the visitors’ advantage late in the first half.

Like Bisseck, El Toro powered home an inch-perfect left-footed finish to put clear daylight between the sides.

However, Genoa fought back midway through the second half, as Vitinha punished Alessandro Bastoni’s poor read.

It proved only a consolation goal for the hosts, who are now winless in their last 13 league matches against Inter.
