Signing a new wingback may not be enough, as Davide Frattesi appears to be hellbent on cutting ties with the Nerazzurri.

Nailed to the bottom of the pecking order, Frattesi is keen to revive his career amid growing interest from Juventus.

Veteran defender Stefan de Vrij is in a similar position.

Chivu has rarely used the 33-year-old this season, while his contract at San Siro runs out next summer.

Furthermore, La Liga giants Barcelona have earmarked the Dutchman as a potential cost-effective signing.
