Inter Milan could reportedly step up their pursuit of Atalanta loanee Marco Palestra in the coming weeks.

With Dumfries expected to cut ties with Inter, the Nerazzurri have identified Marco Palestra as an ideal replacement.

However, Atalanta have slapped a prohibitive €40 million price tag on their prized asset, who’s enjoying a dream season at Cagliari.

Although Inter cannot afford such a significant figure, they could raise funds by offloading some fringe stars, including Frattesi.

Wanted by Juventus, Frattesi could leave the club in January, with Inter asking for €35 million to let him go.

Therefore, the Serie A giants could use that money to finance Palestra’s arrival.
