Serie A pacesetters Inter Milan have reportedly intensified talks to sign wantaway Al-Hilal wingback Joao Cancelo.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, negotiations are underway, with the Nerazzurri looking to close the deal soon.
Joao Cancelo has fallen out of favor with Simone Inzaghi and has no intention of staying in Riyadh beyond January.
Therefore, Jorge Mendes is working around the clock to find a new club for his unsettled client.
Meanwhile, Inter have jumped to the head of the queue.
Inter Milan Stepping Up Interest in Al-Hilal Star Joao Cancelo

Talks between Inter and Mendes are ongoing, as the parties try to find a way to overcome Cancelo’s massive wages.
Indeed, the 31-year-old earns around €18 million net per season in Saudi Arabia, making it impossible for Inter to match his salary.
As such, the former Manchester City ace must take a significant pay cut to facilitate his return to San Siro.
However, Inter could also try to sign Cancelo on loan with an option to buy.
In that case, Al-Hilal would have to agree to pay a substantial portion of the player’s wages.
