Serie A giants Inter Milan will reportedly call off their pursuit of a new wingback after failing to sign Joao Cancelo.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri will not reinforce the right wing in January.
Despite losing starting wingback Denzel Dumfries to a long-term injury, Inter will likely sit tight this month.
Indeed, they had hoped to lure Joao Cancelo back to San Siro after the Portuguese star fell out of favor at Al-Hilal.
However, the 31-year-old has chosen Barcelona instead.

With Cancelo set to return to Camp Nou, Inter will not open discussions with Al-Hilal over Stefan de Vrij or Francesco Acerbi.
Instead, both players will stay in Milan until the summer, when they are expected to leave as free agents.
Furthermore, head coach Cristian Chivu will rely on the underperforming Luis Henrique until the end of the season.
Atalanta’s rising star, Marco Palestra, remains Inter’s dream signing, but he won’t come before the summer.
