Inter could sign Mlacic in the coming days, with Hajduk inclined to accept their €5 million offer.
Furthermore, the Nerazzurri will let the young star stay in Split on loan until the end of the season to sweeten the deal.
Mlacic has already made 18 appearances this season, including 14 in the SuperSport HNL.
As such, he has been an integral part of Gonzalo Garcia’s tactical setup at Poljud.
Meanwhile, Mlacic may not be Inter’s only acquisition this month.
Indeed, Beppe Marotta is still scouring the market for Denzel Dumfries’ replacement.
