Inter Milan have decided to postpone contract talks with Hakan Calhanoglu until the end of the season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the recent visit of Galatasaray executives to Milan did not reopen discussions for the Turkish midfielder.
Inter Milan refused to meet their counterparts and never considered selling Calhanoglu in January.
Calhanoglu remains a key figure in Cristian Chivu’s system. He continues to dictate play from midfield, even though his role has evolved.
The coach believes he can still adapt the Turkey international further to a more intense and aggressive style.
Inter Work On Calhanoglu Renewal In The Summer

The picture could change in the summer.
Calhanoglu’s contract expires in June 2027, which means he will soon enter the final year of his deal.
At that stage, interest from Galatasaray could become more concrete.
Inter would still prefer to keep him. The club value his influence, leadership and strong connection with the supporters. For that reason, talks are expected once the season ends.
The coming months will prove decisive.
Calhanoglu’s representatives will discuss financial terms with the club, including a possible extension until 2029.
He currently earns around €6.5 million per season, the same as Nicolò Barella and second only to Lautaro Martinez.
