According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, San Siro is the reason the Nerazzurri won’t have enough time to rest and prepare for this fixture.

Cristian Chivu will seek redemption after becoming the first Inter manager to lose three consecutive Champions League games since 2011.

Therefore, the Serie A leaders will be eager to beat relegation-threatened Pisa and maintain a three-point lead over second-placed AC Milan.

With San Siro set to host preparations for the Milan–Cortina Olympics from Saturday onward, the game had to take place on Friday.

Furthermore, Inter will face Torino in their Coppa Italia quarter-final tie away from Giuseppe Meazza.

Instead, that clash, scheduled for February 4, will take place in Monza.
