Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly not interested in Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez despite earlier rumors.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri have never entertained the prospect of purchasing the Argentine veteran.

Despite frantically scouring the market for Yann Sommer’s replacement, the San Siro outfit will not sign Emiliano Martinez.

Indeed, the 33-year-old has never been the subject of interest from the 20-time Italian champions, contrary to recent claims.

Though the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner may not arrive at San Siro in the summer, Inter will undoubtedly sign a new goalkeeper.

Sommer will wave goodbye to the Nerazzurri in June after failing to earn a new contract.

As such, Inter are likely to focus on luring Guglielmo Vicario back to Serie A after four years in North London.

Vicario joined Tottenham Hotspur from Empoli in the summer of 2023, but he is now desperate to return to his homeland.

Meanwhile, Cristian Chivu’s men consider him a top target.
