Inter Milan are reportedly preferring Guglielmo Vicario to replace the departing Yann Sommer over Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper remains Inter’s top target ahead of the summer.

Yann Sommer will cut ties with the Nerazzurri at the end of the season after failing to earn a new contract.

Indeed, the Swiss veteran’s form has not convinced the Serie A pacesetters to offer him a new deal, with his current one expiring in June.

As such, Inter are looking to sign a new shot-stopper.

Inter Milan Keen to Replace Sommer with Vicario Rather than Emi Martinez

Despite opening talks with Emiliano Martinez, Cristian Chivu’s men don’t see the 33-year-old as their top priority.

Instead, they’re eager to land Vicario, who could leave Tottenham after three years to return to his old stomping ground.

Vicario was brilliant during his stint at Empoli, but he refused to join Inter in 2023, prioritizing a move to North London.

However, he now realizes it was a mistake and could favor a transfer to San Siro.
